On April 9, 2011, a catastrophic tornado tore through the small town of Mapleton, Iowa, leaving a trail of destruction in its wake. The storm, which struck around 8:30 PM CDT, leveled more than 100 homes and caused extensive damage to businesses and infrastructure.
