Microsoft Returns Billions to Shareholders

REDMOND, Wash. – January 30, 2024 – Microsoft Corp. today announced that it returned $84 billion to shareholders in the form of share repurchases and dividends in the third quarter of fiscal year 2024.

The company's share repurchase program totaled $64 billion during the quarter, while dividends paid to shareholders amounted to $20 billion.
This substantial return of capital reflects Microsoft's strong cash flow generation and commitment to rewarding shareholders for their investment in the company.
Financial Performance
Microsoft also reported solid financial performance for the quarter, with revenue increasing by 15% year-over-year to $59 billion. Net income grew by 12% to $23 billion.
The company attributed its growth to strong demand for its cloud computing services, including Azure and Office 365.
