Liverpool delivered a devastating performance at Anfield on Monday, crushing Leeds United 6-0 in a Premier League masterclass.
Diogo Jota and Mohamed Salah were the stars of the show, each scoring twice to lead the Reds to victory. Cody Gakpo also got on the scoresheet, netting his fifth goal for the club since joining in January.
Leeds never stood a chance as Liverpool dominated from start to finish. The Reds ruthlessly exploited the visitors' defensive frailties, creating countless scoring opportunities.
Jota opened the floodgates in the 3rd minute, tapping in from close range after a slick passing move. Salah doubled the lead just six minutes later with a clinical finish from inside the box.
Gakpo made it 3-0 in the 25th minute with a well-taken header. Salah added another in the 35th minute with a superb solo effort, leaving Leeds defenders in his wake.
Jota completed his brace in the 60th minute with a powerful header, before Salah secured his second and Liverpool's sixth in the 67th minute.
The victory extends Liverpool's unbeaten run to 10 games in all competitions and moves them into ninth place in the Premier League standings. Leeds, meanwhile, remain in the relegation zone, seven points from safety.
